Access is limited and requires permits, so most divers stay in Mabul and visit Sipadan as part of their trip. Its close proximity makes Mabul a practical and comfortable base, while still giving divers the opportunity to experience one of the region’s most well-known dive sites.
GETTING HERE
Getting to Mabul Island is simple and scenic. Start your journey by flying to Tawau Airport, then take a +-50 minutes drive to Semporna. From there, hop on a boat for a +-45 minute ride across clear blue waters straight to Mabul. Boats depart daily in the morning, offering a smooth and refreshing transfer to the island paradise.

Yes, you can dive on your first day if you arrive in time for the morning boat transfer to Mabul Island.
Our daily boat departs at 8:30 AM from Semporna, and guests joining this transfer can usually complete 1–2 dives on the same day, depending on arrival time and conditions.
We recommend planning your travel to arrive early, so you don’t miss the boat and can make the most of your diving day.
